Bike with Confidence
Bicycles are an incredible form of transportation. They take up less space on the road and in parking spots, produce zero emissions, and let their riders engage in physical activity! However, not everyone is comfortable getting around by bike. A lack of confidence, skills, or physical ability, as well as travel distance, fear of the road, the sweat factor or dreaded helmet head, and the need to transport things/groceries/children can be a barrier to biking. We can help you overcome these barriers!
Whether it’s been two years or two decades since you’ve gotten on a bike, we can help you learn (or remember) how to safely ride in Sacramento with confidence. We come to you, and offer private, one-on-one or small group sessions tailored to your needs and goals.
These sessions provide you with safety tips so you can confidently participate in a tour.
A typical session includes:
Before You Ride (ABC Quick Check)
Adjustments and Fit (helmet, seat, handlebars, baskets)
Bike Components (how to shift, pedal, and brake properly, safely, and efficiently)
Rules of the Road
Verbal and Hand Signals
Biking Around Obstacles:
Other Cyclists
Pedestrians
Cars (parked and moving)
Unpredictable dogs and children
Basic bike maintenance
Biking together and starting slow on low-traffic streets to practice can help you gain the confidence and safety skills you need bike more often and participate in a tour.
Cost: $45 per 75-minute session.
Includes free phone consultation to help understand your needs and identify goals for the session.
